What to do in the first 24 hours Keep calm. Allegations and Complaints are part of the job. You will have your chance to give your version of events.
Why not to delete or alter records. Recordings are vital in showing the level of care and commitment you have had for all the children in your care, spanning decades.
What documents may help establish the context. Your Supervision notes, Annual Reviews and daily recordings plot the care you provided. Training Certificates demonstrate your professional commitment to understanding.
Questions to ask about the process and next steps. Who will support us and who will support the children or young person involved? What are the timescales and can what information can we have in writing?
When independent support may help. The Fostering Service must take a step back from the support they would offer under normal circumstances. Independent Support is therefore important at this time to keep you informed, help you understand next steps, mediate between you, provide information and emotional strength.
